I’m uploading some art to the ol’ web site right now, but I have a resolution - get the new web site up and running. It’s almost there

This year I am going to Calgary Comic Espo and the site lists me as a guest (Awesome). I havea good artist alley table and I’m contributing to the artbook. Sales of the artbook go to the Boys and Girls Club of calgary, and if you’re at the con you can bid on my original art to further help the kids!

I’m slowly starting to reopen a few commissions here and there as my time frees up. I have a few trades I’m working on slowly. Last year was kind of a break year for me for a variety of reasons, this year I’ll be taking a few more commissions, but still not as many as I used to.

So here is a rundown!

Life has been busy between my design job and freelance and other life-like stuff (I’m a girl guide leader!).

So, excitingness:

• The super secret exciting thing I was talking about is that I am doing a base card for the new Star Wars Galaxy cardset by topps. The painting is done and approved, but I can’t show it to you.
• I am also doing 106 cards, and when I get them approved I CAN show them to you
• I’ll be participating in the 501st TK project
• I just completed another 5 illustrations for something Star Wars related that I can’t show you. And it’ll be my first pro writing credit, too.

As you can see, with all that the relaunch of my web site is kind of on hold.

I want to do something awesome and super designed, but I have a feeling I’m just going to have a nice header and a cute footer and call it a day. Although i do have to tweak ALL the WP CSS, so I’m sure things will be quite pretty

Some awesome stuff is in the cards for me, I can’t say anything but I have two nice projects on the go.

I’ll post details when I can, of course.

I’m in the process of getting everything awesome and working here. I’m at the point where I can almost start redesigning the site and having wordpress run the whole thing. How cool is that?

I just need to remember how to get into my php admin page and I’ll be golden.

Anyhoo, have a small gallery. I’ll be able to upload my art from anywhere now, and not have to worry about making thumbnails.

This means that my site will run much smoother

I will eventually update the actual web site, but here is some random new art for you all.

 

I have a brand spanking new intuos 3 tablet and it’s an aboslute dream. Compared to my old Graphire 3, this is like drawing on silk. Yep, it’s that smooth. I have been planning to do a web site update for a while, but real life has been busy, so we have a blog update instead!

First off, in honour of the new tablet I will be offering waves of inexpensive digital sketch commissions through my livejournal, deviantart and FA. Once I get off my butt and get more trafic here, I’ll offer them through this blog. I’ll be rotating these from place to place so everyone can get a chance.

I produced 106 cards for the Clone wars set this year and Im really excited to have been a part of it.I haven’t uploaded the cards (or my indy ones, for shame) to the web site, but here are some of the clone wars cards, just for you.

I should start using this blog more.

I am done with convention season for this year and I’m planning on hitting Calgary Comic Expo next year, but not Seattle. As much as I loved the Seattle con, going to cons that are 2 weeks apart really kills me. Instead I’ll go to one con in the spring and, hopefully, one in the summer or fall.
